Why Midland

As Marketing and Communications Specialist at Midland Asphalt, I have had the opportunity to undertake various efforts at Midland, as well as projects within the Colas family across the US. This includes photography, videography, graphic design, social media, events, and more. Some highlighted projects are below.

Why Construction

I’m drawn to the construction industry because it’s dynamic and generative. You get to be outside, you get to build things with your hands. As a woman, I enjoy the challenge of being in a male dominated industry, and the opportunity to enact change. As a photographer and artist, I relish the forms and shapes that exist uniquely within this industry and am influenced by the New Topographics movement. Road construction is particularly interesting to me as a photographic subject, due to the road’s deep cultural mythos in American culture and photography.
